Dad and Daughter Hair 101 in support of YUVA Arts Project
Description: Dads are not typically the first person girls will go to for help styling their hair, but it is a valuable skill to learn and can be a bonding experience for both! On December 2nd, dads learned a few simple tips and tricks from professional hair stylists! The lesson included everything from brushing and buns to braiding. The dads jumped in with both feet...and hands! The fun also included snacks, games, music, and fun for the kids. One hundred percent of all proceeds went directly to support The Yuva Arts Project, A group of 6-8 Indian youth born into the Red Light District, who are traveling to KW. They will collaborate on various arts-based projects with Indigenous and refugee youth. Using creative arts as a medium, the hope is to build connections and foster friendships, as well as address the various social challenges faced by all groups while collectively exploring solutions.
